Christmas opening hours and availability

It’s that time of year in New Zealand for reflection, celebration and recharging has fast approached and at FutureLab Digital our team are observing the following closure dates:

  • 26 December – 9 January: Limited team availability – emergency and SLA responses as normal.
  • 9 January: Team operating at normal.

During the limited team availability dates, we will be available for emergency support via our help centre support@futurelab.co.nz. If you don’t have an SLA contract in place with us, have a chat with Bernard or Gregor beforehand to set one up.

A year in review

It’s been an incredible year at FutureLab Digital in 2022. We have welcomed 3 new team members, Ibraim, Tarei and Gregor.

We’ve committed millions of lines of code across our github organisation this year, we also donated to charities we internally feel strongly about I Have A Dream, Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand, Kapiti Youth Support and Variety – the Children’s Charity.

If you have an interest in AquaCulture (both in NZ and abroad) we also have several team members building the Mussel App (native IOS/Android companion app paired with a data collection web app) with several industry mussel farmers as early adopters for the platform.

We are hugely proud of each of our clients successes and look forward to strengthening relationships and building more innovative features for them in the new year.

What does 2023 hold for FutureLab?

Well, our team is ready to hit the ground running in 2023 – with new focuses on digital performance marketing efforts, internal delivery tooling and improvements and doubling down on raising our commitment to opensource visibility through communities like WordPress.

You might see our names in different spaces next year. Our continued development approach to delivery means we are excited to be able to offer a few more product services next year to improve the WordPress experience for partners. We might dabble in some awards and increase our commitment to charities and partnerships that are important to individuals on our team.

These are all inspirations driven from our team members in fields they feel passionate about, and ultimately lead to FutureLab doubling down on bolstering our professional offering to help our clients and partners grow. As they say in the WordPress community, “A rising tide lifts all boats”.

We even feel like it might be a good year to put our hands up with partners to enter some technology awards!

More importantly, what do you want to achieve in 2023?

As you might have guessed, we are inspired by solving business challenges with technology – from monitoring weather patterns for mussel farming to improving several online learning and certification platforms for our clients – FutureLab digital are really interested in hearing from you.

While you are reflecting on the time of year, ponder the largest challenge you have and share it with us – we’d love to be involved in ideation, discovery and delivery of your next ambitious project.

Gregor, Bernard, Ralf and Tarei are just an email away from continuing that conversation – so reach out.
